Animal Rights Part 2

Another thing i noticed recently was the fact that how animals nowadays are being killed for their meat at slaughter houses across the world. One case i would like to talk about would be the KFC killings in America and how chickens are brutally killed and torture before landing on your plate. I'm sure this doesn't apply here in Malaysia (thank god) but to know some people who actually have the heart to do such a thing to an innocent being. Chickens used by KFC are kept in enormous animal storage houses and are very closely kept together. The chickens stress under these conditions as every chicken is fighting for space and fresh air as ammonia in their waste release toxic gases.
These chickens will never feel sunlight on their backs as they are kept in the storage houses from the day they hatch to the day they are sent off to the slaughter houses. But before they are sent off to the slaughter houses, they endure torture. Chickens are de-beaked the minute they are hatched with a hot razor attached to a machine that does all the work, this is to prevent them from peaking at each other. De-beaking is NOT like cutting your finger nails, it is more to like having the ends of your fingers chopped off. After this process, the chickens are injected with antibiotics to boost up their metabolism to make themselves more meaty, due to this, their legs cant support the immense body weight and causes the chickens to be lame.
After this painful phase, the chickens are roughly thrown into shipment containers and sent of to the slaughter houses where the torture resumes. The chickens are hung upside down by their feet with metal shackles and usually their feet are broken by this. Their necks a slit one by one and they are headed straight to the boiler where sometimes they are defeathered alive in boiling water with their necks slit before finally being killed .
How is it that humans can treat animals as if they are nothing but dirt. They're a few websites such as www.KentuckyFriedCruelty.com took time and effort to stop these cruel intentions and even celebrity's took notice and now are in full suppport.
HELP STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY

Animal Rights! Part 1

Im sorry for the pictures above but this is the only way for this message to be passed on, by facing the truth . STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY . when you see these pictures, you might ask, 'how can somebody do that to an innocent being' well the truth is that hundreds of thousands of animals nowadays are being tortured and slaughtered by inhumane ways. Now when i say inhumane i literally do mean INHUMANE.

One example would be the slaughtering of dogs on the streets on Vietnam. The Vietnamese believed that the more the animal is tortured, the more tastier it is when cooked. And one by one each dog is brutally tortured by hitting them with sticks repeatedly, kicked till the point where bone breaks, and even chopping of their legs when they are still alive, all of this happening right infront of the next line up of dogs in cages awaiting their turn. Animals nowadays are being kept as pets but the number of pets that dont live up to a good life is because their owners irresponsibly discard their pets on the streets,
Speaking of irresponsible owners, some cold-hearted people treat their pets as if they are nothing and abuse their pets as if they have no feelings. Recently a video of a Malaysian man abusing a poodle found in a pendrive caught the the nation's attention when it was fowarded through facebook. The man in his early to mid 20's was found abusing the poodle when the dog failed to stand as instructed by the man. The man would beat, slap, and throw the poodle across the room just because the dog couldn't stand up. I mean what kind of person would do such a thing. I feel and disgusted to know that such people actually exist in this world.

I mean the saying is true that 'out of all the living things in this world, there is only one species that has the power to take care of all the species on earth, and thats us' but how can we even start when there are some who see the opposite.

Places i would want to go (and breathe) . .

Hello there everyone,
So as i was writing down my post on New Zealand yesterday, i was just thinking of only one thing when i was there and that was the fact on how clean the place was, no im being serious, with todays pollution and man's neverending crave for fossil fuels and it’s often argued that flying around the world on giant, carbon-spewing aircraft is in no way green. But, the fact is, responsible ecotourism can improve the economic conditions of rural populations and financially support conservation efforts. It also educates travelers about environmental issues, building environmental and cultural awareness and respect. Here are 5 of the world’s hottest eco travel destinations that provide a balance of breathtaking scenery, incredible biodiversity and a strong commitment to stewardship of the land, wildlife and community. i actually took the time to research these amazing eco friendly places.

1. Costa Rica

This beautiful South American country has a virtual buffet of eco-friendly destinations including 59 hotels that have been awarded the official government certificate for earth-friendly practices. Costa Rica is one of the most sought-after eco-travel destinations, with hundreds of companies specializing in sustainable services. One particularly notable place to say is Lapa Rios Rainforest Ecolodge, which is nestled in the hills and surrounded by tropical rainforest, with a view of the ocean. Lapa Rios seeks to protect and preserve 1000 acres of primary and secondary rainforest in the Lapa Rios private nature reserve, while supporting their community and educating guests about conservation and preservation.

2.The Galapagos Islands

If you don’t know how to travel without leaving a footprint behind, the Galapagos Islands are not for you. When you visit, an accredited park ranger is with you at every moment, ensuring that you leave no trace as you enjoy the natural beauty of the islands and the threatened wildlife that live there. Conservation challenges are great in the Galapagos, where nonnative species introduced by humans have done serious damage to the local ecosystem. But, that doesn’t mean you should stay away. Ecotourism remains the only way to support the Galapagos National Park, and is beneficial as long as visitors act responsibly.

3.Dubai

Dubai isn’t exactly known for restraint, and its ecotourism industry is no different. Visitors to its top eco resorts call the accommodations‘ridiculously luxurious’, stocked with Bulgari soaps and crystal decanters full of free sherry. But, the ecotourism industry in Dubai is helping to protect the desert habitat and the species that live in it, which include a herd of exotic Arabian oryx, a large white antelope that was once near extinction. Hardy hikers can take the guided trek into the rugged Wadi Bih canyon and the peaks of Hajjars, or go on overnight hikes through the mountains.

4.Madidi National Park, Bolivia

The diverse landscape of Bolivia offers a variety of different ecosystems to explore, from the Altiplano – a high mountain plateau where Andean civilization first flourished – to dense Amazonian rainforests like the jungles of Madidi National Park. The latter is a reserve that’s one of the world’s top conservation priorities, where anecotourism business owned and run by local residents generates profits that help preserve the natural beauty and ecology of the land. The Chalalan Ecolodge is a village of bamboo-sided, thatched-roof houses that blend into the environment, where visitors enjoy native dishes and a variety of rainforest adventures. Visiting the Chalalan Ecolodge helps ensure the future of the Madidi National Park for generations to come.

5.Daintree Rainforest, Australia

The ecotourism movement is flourishing in Australia, and there are plenty of places to enjoy an ecologically responsible adventure. For those who’d like to kick back and relax a little instead of making a 6-hour trek up a mountain or huddling in a cave with glowing worms, a trip to the Daintree rainforest on Queenland’s north coast is in order. It’s the oldest continually surviving rainforest in the world, with an intricate ecosystem that supports species found nowhere else on the planet. The Daintree Eco Lodge and Spa is the area’s crown jewel of accommodations, with 15 rustic cabins joined by linked walkways on stilts, built to minimize disturbance of rainforest creatures on the forest floor as much as possible.

So there its, my top 5 eco friendly places to go and breathe. And who knows, one day i might go to all these wonderful places, but til then . .

Down Under . . way down

Why the random topic you might ask?
well i was looking at some of my facebook albums to catch up on the memories and i remembered that time my family and i went to New Zealand and instantly fell in love with the place ( get the tittle now?). it would be definitely be one of my Top 5 places to go again if i ever have the chance. My family and I went there in the middle of 2009 during the schools holidays and we thought it would be a good time off from all the stress from work and school, and this wasn't like a normal vacation where we would book a hotel for a week and enjoy one part of the country, this was an actual backpacking vacation where we would move every night to a new motel and we would backpack across the whole country right to the very south. As i could remember it was the Fall season when we went there, and it was already freezing cold! New Zealand was also a very special place to me because it was actually the first time i touched snow. it was a really memorable moment. REAL snow is so much different than the FAKE snow in lets say, SnowWorld in Genting (no offence)

Another thing about New Zealand that was memorable was the fact that i Bungy Jumped! Yeaps thats right, it was 5secs of pure adrenalin running through my veins. i even bought the jacket and they gave me a DVD of the ACTUAL dive! thats something to show the kids one day. To be honest i actually wasn't scared UNTIL i came to the edged and looked down, at this point i was asking myself "what was i thinking" and while i was thinking that the bungy guy was already counting down. The only thing that was between me and 50m drop into the freezing river was nothing but little strands of 'rubber bands' tied densely together. The actual drop was the whole highlight actually because of the suspense building up to the jump, i would line up with the rest of the jumpers and just as we're about to get ready to jump, we would see person after person jumping down.

There was actually something funny that happened, before it was my turn to jump, there was a waiting lounge near the bridge where we were jumping and inside was a couch and a live video of the jumpers jumping off. So i thought i might entertain myself for awhile and something hilarious happened, there was a korean lady who was (later i found out) dared to go on the jump and when it was her turn she froze in fear and countless times she tried to jump but she just couldn't so the bungy guy just asked her to look forward and count to 5, and even before she reaches 4, he pushed her! it was just plain funny to watch something like that happen right infront of you. Yes New Zealand was really just another one of those place where you would just want to have fun.

Good times, how i miss them

College life (2)

Greetings,
i sounded a little martian there didn't i? well this would be a continuation of the first post about College Life i posted earlier, as for now its a sunday and i am currently sleeping in the whole day and well, i cant believe im saying this but i actually want to go to College. College is so much different from school life. Differences are that in school you'd do anything to skip a day and use the "im sick" method way too many times to your folks but college is different, you'd actually want to wake up at 6 and arrive on time to get a parking (which can be annoying) and hang out with your friends just a few minutes before class starts. Its actually boring to stay at home and laze around all day.

And another thing i wanted to clear up was the name of my blog. A few people has asked me whats the meaning of "secondtake"?. As i said, highschool life has come to an end and that was the "first take" . Now that im in college its take two of my life so thats the reason why its called the " second take", are you guys getting what i mean? clever no? I mean its not too simple nor too flashy.

Another thing that would add up to my college life was the fact that i passed my driving exam the other day! ah yes finally, knowing the fact that you wont be relying on your parents for transport ever again is awesome. Actually dad already bought the car way before i even passed, its just because he had a good bargain and hey why not? but there is something that annoys me just little though, its the fact that my driving license photo looks like im a terrorist. I think it was a really bad idea to cut my hair before i took the test.

So now that its the end of the week, i have had a full week of college and im loving it. im liking all my classes especially MassComm with Ms.Zee. There is one lecturer that i have yet to meet tho and thats Dr.Benedict, his classes were taken over my Ms.Zee for the past week? Apprently he caught the chicken pox and has been absent since. I wonder how he's going to be like when he's back. i mean a few seniors i met said that he's a fun lecturer just like Ms.Zee but we'll just have to wait and see for ourselves. And as i said before im really REALLY glad i took up Mass Communications, i seriously can see myself enjoying it for the next 4 years. maybe im visualising way too far as it is still quiet early, i mean come on its only the first few weeks of college so im not going to be too confident, but im keeping my hopes and everything up. heh

And just to add on, here are a few more photos from this hectic week(:

College Life (1)

Hello everyone
as you can see, Nasri Siru has a blog! even though i had like a few blogs in the past that died out of pure boredom, i'm gonna start fresh . so as highschool life comes to an ending chapter, a new chapter begins and thats college. the word 'college' for me is like 'FINALLY!'. the part where i've been waiting for 18 years has come! . . well sorta .

as to those that do not know i decided to go with Taylors Lakeside. there IS one thing that i find a little weird tho. most of the people i know not only from my school but other schools are all there. so its like highschool all over again, except everyone is in one big school. heh i mean i wouldn't mind it actually. sounds fun. Anyways how am i liking Taylors so far? i couldn't think of a better place to continue my studies, the campus is amazing all though you can get lost in it but i guess thats just something i have to get use too. I'm really glad i decided to go with Dilpoma in Masscomm, the course sounds really fun and its a typical Work Hard Play Hard scenario . im so glad Vee and Bryan are in it too. i depend on them to know what class is next hahaha. i SERIOUSLY gotta stop loosing my timetable. OH and i find the class 'interesting' i guess. i haven't actually gotten the time to got know everyone but there ARE some of those people that kinda annoys you and there are some that are potential friends. My lecturers are alright i guess, i think the most fun would have to be Ms.Zee . she's awesome . HI MISS ZEE DO I GET EXTRA MARKS FOR THIS?. just playing hahaha.

Lunch times are always the best, but its hard choosing where to have our lunch tho thanks to the amount of restaurants and cafes that's over there. i mean the most suitable (and affordable) one has to be the FoodCourt i guess, the rest are burning a hole in my wallet. after lunch classes are abit of a bore because its like directly after you ate and all you wanna do it sleep and digest. Other than that the assignments are slowly starting to pile up *nottomentionthisone* heh heh

OH and another thing that i did was sign up for the Taylors Dance Club . im starting to drag my college friends into joining dance hahah successfully dragged carl the other day and soon it shall be bryan. both of them are (somewhat) b-boys . sigh . what happpened to the poppers around campus? i feel like im the only one. chehnola. futhermore i think that this is one FREAKING cool campus . ohwait did i mention that already? the Student Life Centre is just a great place to hang out with the peeps after a long day and thanks to the SLC im beginning to get addicted to pool now. other than that i can really say anything else about college except that I LOVE IT(for now that is)

anyways here are some photos(:

they have Subway. i will survive

the lake is a really nice place to hang out after class

heh.
